Kyra Minturn

Kyra Minturn Sedgwick (born on 19th August 1965) is an American actress, producer and director. Her most famous character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime drama The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The seventh season of the show was concluded on August 13, 2012. Sedgwick's performance as Madeline Wuntch in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine is also noteworthy. Sedgwick was nominated to the Golden Globe for her role in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film credits include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's Cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). The actress also appeared in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was born in New York City, the daughter of Patricia (nee Rosenwald), an educator and speech therapist , and Henry Dwight Sedgwick V, an investor in venture capital. Her mother was Jewish, and her father was an Episcopalian. Sedgwick was of English descent. Sedgwick has openly declared her Jewish heritage and has said she is a part of Passover seders.
